Game of 2012, a first Q&A, tying up loose ends

For those of you not yet following our facebook or twitter pages (and why not?), this is just a quick heads-up on the nature of this weeks coverage. With two out of five of our planned Street Fighter reviews now live, we thought we'd pause for breath to tie up a couple of loose ends. Firstly, there's the small matter of revealing our Game of 2012 and netting our maiden Q&A with Evolution Studios Game Director Paul Rustchynsky - we hope you enjoy reading it as much as we did writing it!

And then, we've the concluding part of our Retro Secret Santa. We agreed that Al's review of Cool Spot (SMD) would be better suited to a January slot where he had time to form a full and fair opinion, as we'd rather put up a review slightly later than planned, than have it rushed to meet a tight deadline, a situation that was sadly unavoidable during the holiday period. I think you'll agree though, the write-up was worth the wait! :)

Without wanting to sound too much like a Resident Evil 4 merchant, we've got some lovely stuff for you all to kick off the New Year in style. At the heart of it, a Street Fighter review special. We put five games under the spotlight, their releases spanning around 24 years. We've covered the very first SF title and the very most recent, as well as some of the series' notable footnotes including a rare latter-day SNES outing and a fusion of the two biggest fighters around. It promises to make for some knockout (sorry) stuff.

...How do we follow that? Easy. We're soon to announce our Game of 2012, with a celebratory feature AND an interview with the game's Director. We reckon you'll love it :)

We're also giving PC games a bit more love. As well as having Satazius to brighten your New Year, we've got a review of indie adventure Home to follow shortly as well a diverse range of titles we hope to cover over the coming weeks.

The list of Street Fighter games in full:
Fighting Street TG16
Street Fighter 2: The World Warrior SNES
Street Fighter Alpha 2 SNES
Super Street Fighter IV PS3
Street Fighter X Tekken X360
