Dreamcast lives on with Gun Lord

27/6/2012

The Dreamcast lives! Since the release of the last 'official' Dreamcast game Karous in 2006, developer's have continued to support SEGA's final format, and the trend is set to continue into 2012 with the release of NG:DEV.TEAM's Gun Lord, an action-packed mix of 2D platforming and shooting. It's also coming out for the NeoGeo, so retro fans will have something to look forward to going by the excellent trailer. Also have a peek at the game's official site.
This week we've also got new reviews of PC game-changer Half-Life and James Bond's troubled first landing on the PSone, Tomorrow Never Dies.

New categories and partying with corpses...

18/6/2012

You'll have hopefully noticed a few cosmetic differences on the site recently. As well as tidying up reviews, we're implementing new categories on the main site bar so as to avoided clogging up the old 'Reviews' category with too many formats under one roof. In time, the site bar will accommodate hubs for Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft and SEGA, and potentially Amiga and Atari as well. Those with fewer formats will feature under an 'Other' heading, but will enjoy the same depth of coverage. More categories will be added as the reviews start to amount, so things will start to take shape fairly quickly.

This has also allowed for an early indexing of our reviews. Clicking one of the aforementioned categories will allow you to view all of the games so far reviewed in list-form, each acting as a link to the main review itself.

TPE has added it's first portable reviews (with many more to come) - Harvest Moon's first appearance on the PSP, and cult-Japanese horror Corpse Party. Be sure to have a read!

Plenty incoming in the near future including lots more reviews and features, so stay tuned!
