The games covered are as follows, links to be added as the reviews themselves are posted:

Daxter (PSP)
Jak II: Renegade (PS2)

Pixel Facelift

Ah, the joys of being chased through a creepy, dark swamp by an enormous spider. Well, if that particular scenario doesn't give you goosebumps, then maybe you are man (or woman) enough to tackle the spooky delights of indie-platform classic Limbo, of which we have a review of the PC version awaiting your perusal.

We've also had a bit of an overhaul presentation-wise, so from now on reviews will largely resemble the layout we adopted on the Limbo review page - give or take the odd little change. We hope you like this, and the new buttons on the home page, because we're always striving to make the site more attractive and a more useful source to our readers. Let us know what you think!

What do a limbless French platforming hero, a time-manipulating Prince and a world full of talking cars have in common? Well... not a lot, except they're all protagonists in games that The Pixel Empire have reviewed in the last couple of weeks. Intrigued? So you should be - click the links to read all about 'em. Nothing like a bit of variety, huh?

On the way we've got a review of distinctive indie-platformer Limbo (PC), and we couldn't let the Olympics pass by without a little athletics-fuelled treat for all you retro fans...

We at The Pixel Empire are very excited this week. Why? Well, today we kicked a new features series called Landmark Levels. Our writers have played through thousands of scenarios and levels, duelled with countless bosses, zipped round a myriad of race-tracks and seen the wonders of many a gaming town and village. And so we thougt we'd share some of our most memorable.

Alan gets things rolling today with his account of Half-Life 2: Episode 2's action-packed ending. If you enjoy reading it as much we did, stay tuned, because Shane and Tom have their own picks coming soon too. Should the series live up to our expectations, there will be many more to come, and just to note, they are not listed or numbered in order of preference. So in the meantime: enjoy! Oh, and we also have a new review up of the stealth adventure Pilot Down: Behind Enemy Lines for the PS2, so have a read!

Alan's pick (vol. 01): Half-Life 2: Episode 2 - The buggy, sticky bomb, Strider finale

Shane's pick (vol. 02): Gears Of War - Act 1, Chapter 8 - "China Shop"

Tom's pick (vol. 03): Flashback - "New Washington"
