Halloween Horror Special

Halloween is nearly upon us and boy, do we have some tricks 'n' treats in store for our readers! To get the ball rolling, all four Pixel writers have for the first time teamed up for a feature. In it, we talk about our favourite scary games, foes and scenes, as well as airing our views on the future of horror gaming, and whether we think things have progressed over the past decade. Five devilishly simple questions each, but lots of opinion. As ever, we'd love to hear your views too, so let us know what scarey games you remember most vividly in the comments box at the bottom of the feature.

From now until Halloween, we'll be posting every couple of days. Four horror-themed games spanning four generations of gaming. From the days of shock-jock arcade titles, to survival-horror's golden period of the mid-late nineties, to the current crop attempting to carry the torch forward. We've a bit of everything... So be ready to come out from behind the sofa, it's gonna be a scream *evil laugh*

If you've been to the homepage any time recently, you'll have noticed our gruesomely brilliant Dead Space banner (thanks once again to Chris for that) - we're gearing up for Halloween by plotting four scary game reviews spanning four generations of gaming. All going well, we'll post them one by one in late October. Don't forget, you can get involved with our discussion about horror titles on The Pixel Empire's facebook page, and don't hesitate to tweet us @PixelEmpire too!

We've been buoyed by the growth of the number of formats covered in recent times, as we strive to make TPE a more complete source for gaming across the eras. In recent times, we've had reviews of DS Bejeweled Twist, X360 Sleeping Dogs, Amiga Speedball 2 and PS3 MotorStorm Apocalypse, with SNES Super Tennis and PSone Scooby Doo on the way very shortly. Quite a mix, I'm sure you'd agree.
