PIXEL REVIEW: SYPHON FILTER PS 16/11/2017
In 1999, Syphon Filter defied the odds and the detractors as smart design and challenging gameplay won out in what was an outstanding fifth generation action/adventure. Shane relives Gabe Logan's exciting debut.

PIXEL REVIEW: MIDDLE-EARTH: SHADOW OF WAR XONE 5/11/2017
Monolith's brilliant Shadow of Mordor launched gaming into the eighth gen proper with its intelligent Nemesis system. Is Shadow of War a case of bigger, bolder, better? Shane goes orc-bashing in his latest in-depth review.

PIXEL REVIEW: SAW PS3 31/10/2017
2009: with Silent Hill struggling critically and commercially, Konami were looking to the future. Film tie-in Saw was heir-apparent to their survival horror hopes. Tom looks at a clever, scary and underrated horror effort from Zombie Studios.

PIXEL REVIEW: RESIDENT EVIL 7: BIOHAZARD XONE 29/10/2017
It wouldn't be Halloween without Resident Evil. What better way to mark the spooky season than with Shane's look at Resi's magnificent eighth generation REemergence (sorry). Read his spine-chilling review now!

PIXEL REVIEW: C-12: FINAL RESISTANCE PS 23/10/2017
Shane travels back sixteen years to discover a more optimistic view of the future, where our only worries are mass destruction, rampaging robots and dodgy acting. At least there's no social media or duck pouts to contend with.

PIXEL REVIEW: BISHI BASHI SPECIAL 3: STEP CHAMP PS 16/10/2017
In 2000, Bishi Bashi Special 3 was considered too odd for western tastes, and was never released outside of Japan. This has not changed. Probably never will. Tom has reviewed the import version of Konami's marvellous madness though.

PIXEL REVIEW: CHASE THE EXPRESS PS 7/10/2017
It may have been met with a muted reception in 2000, but we at The Pixel Empire love Chase the Express. Shane takes a look back at Sugar & Rockets' action thriller, one that's packed with cool touches and memorable moments.
