REVIEWS | XBOX ONE

Eighth generation | 2013-2020 | Blu-ray, digital
Games: 2,925 (as of Jan. 2025) | Units sold: 58m (as of Jan. 2025)
Despite a disastrous announcement and the subsequent back-pedalling on their stance towards always-online and second-hand games, Microsoft’s Xbox One recovered with a continuation of its strong online component and excellent third-party support. The system sports around 3,000 games, as well as lauded backwards compatibility that allows gamers to play a number of original Xbox and 360 titles. Updates, named Xbox One S and Xbox One X, provided a price-cut and a performance upgrade, respectively.
