METRO! ...Er, cause it's both modern AND retro, right? All these trips to the future are starting to remind us of the past. A life of R-Type, Gradius and a myriad of other scrolling shoot 'em up classics flash before Tom's eyes as he charts Astro Port's nifty shooter.

RETRO SECRET SANTA! Tom felt the Pixel writers could all do with some festive cheer, and so all four scribes selected a 16-bit title for another to play at random, and review over the holidays. If nothing else, the mix of disappointment, apathy and outright disgust the choices were met with suggests we're terrible at selecting presents.

PIXEL REVIEW: JUST DANCE 3 WII 16/12/2012
Stuck for an affordable Christmas present that all the family will enjoy? This sure beats Pictionary.
PAYNE/PAIN! Thought it had been a while since our last slaughter-fest double? Me neither, but that just happens to be what Shane and Tom have been tackling: contrasting fortunes in returns for Max Payne and Kane & Lynch

BRAINING/STRAINING! Tom and Chris don't need personal trainers. No Sir! They'd much rather be told they're losing vital senses by a couple of really-rather-good lifestyle 'em ups. Don't study the graphs too closely...

KLAX! Don't believe that gaming can brighten your day? Chris relives Klax, one of the best (and most zanily colourful) puzzlers of its time. You should probably bring some shades, just in case.

REVIEW ROUND-UP: AGE OF ZOMBIES/AERO RACER/ECHOES MIN 7/12/2012
To celebrate the return of Barry Steakfries in the recent Jetpack Joyride, Tom returns to a trio of cracking PlayStation minis titles from Halfbrick Studios. Expect time-bending, gravity-manipulating, zombie fun 'n' puns.
HI-REZ! Rez with slicker graphics and a price point that doesn't require you to sell your house? Shane enjoys a win-win situation with his coverage of the rhythm/shooter's HD rebirth.

REZ! Chris goes on a mental musical acid trip... And he also plays Rez, reviewing it during a period of downtime after the sherbet had finally began to wear off. He'll be happy for weeks, and so will you if you get a dose of Rez.

PIXEL HI-SCORE DUEL #2: REZ/REZ HD PS2 X360 2/12/2012
Two writers, two Rez's, once awesome duel. Find out who came out on top when Chris challenged Shane to a score battle in the first of three pieces covering the cult-classic shooter/rhythm game hybrid.
SILENCE! Tom's obviously a bit of a masochist. Silent Hill games scare him, yet he's always first in line when it comes to reviewing them. Homecoming and Downpour, the series two HD-gen instalments, are covered in scary detail.
